ALS Ice Bucket Challenge: Trivializing Disease or Doing Good?

We all have heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge as more famous people takes up the challenge. Some individuals such as George Bush were challenged by most American citizens, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bill Gate, Simon Cowell of the X-Factor and Choi Seung Hyun of Big Bang’s T.O.P.
Surprisingly, Tech CEOs from companies like Facebook, Apple, Google, Amazon, and Twitter among many others has entered the record.

The most interesting part is that Samsung Galaxy S5 has join in to show off its waterproof abilities (LOL).

For those who are not familiar, if you get challenged by someone to do the ALS Ice Bucket challenge you will have to donate money to the ALS foundation or throw a bucket of ice cold water on top of your head, then you get to challenge 3 other people and they have 24 hours to respond.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.

Since the challenge was started by Pete Frates approximately 5 million dollars has already been raised for ALS and this number will only continue to go up.

Is it better to carry out the challenge or donate money?
